Belated Vday Celebration :)

Although it was a belated Valentine's meal, it was not a bad idea to have it at the top of the iconic supertree at Gardens by the Bay, last week. However we had to spend a little bit more effort and time in locating it since we were first-timers there, still it was worth to try.

The bistro is narrow but a good idea for drinking and chilling out. I was expecting more than good food knowing that it was IndoChine as I had a splendid experience during my last visit to another outlet. The beef was quite impressive but not the over-cooked chicken. So I requested for a replacement.

We took a short walk at the roof top after meal and soaked in the view on the tallest Supertree. There was nothing else to do but capture the moments :)

Name: IndoChine @ Gardens by the Bay
Location: 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore 018953
Nature: Western/Asian
Recommended for chill out and drinking

About V-Day

Here's the fuss about lovey dovey V-Day:  A very long time ago, Christians lived under the tyranny of the Roman Empire, where they would be persecuted for their faith. Saint Valentinus went against the law to perform weddings for soldiers who were disallowed the legal right to be married - but St Valentine helped them anyway.Subsequently, he was thrown into jail, where he healed his jailer's daughter by performing a miracle. Prior to his execution, he wrote, "from your Valentine", as a final sendoff.

Even if it's only a legend, the story of a man who believed in love and helped it flourish even in the toughest of times should rightfully inspire you to do the same for your loved one. Take some time to reflect on V-Day itself. Do you only send the gifts, the flowers, and take that extra step to display your affection just once in a year?

It's alright to say yes, because sometimes we get caught up in the whirlwind of building a life with our partner and forget that s/he is together on the same path as us. Whether it's Valentine's Day, a wedding anniversary, or a dating anniversary, these days help remind us to pause and take a deep breath to enjoy the people we love.

So the next time you think that Valentine's Day is just an over-commercialized marketing scheme of businesses, just look on the bright side and think of it as another day to show someone - romantic or not - how much you love them. Those extra dollars and cents are well-worth the price because you know they deserve it.
